NETworX receives award from the Southwest Region of Las Amigas

MORVEN — The Southwest Regional Las Amigas, Inc. organization presented a service award to an Anson local non-profit during a regional meeting on March 27.

The Morven Chapter of Las Amigas, a member of the Southwest Region, selected NETworX to receive the $100 service award. The award was presented to NETworX’s Site Coordinator Devin Pettiford during a Zoom meeting.

NETworX Anson is a non-profit initiative focusing on bettering the lives of people in the community. Individuals can attend weekly classes and community events to help work towards a positive change in their life.

The non-profit’s mission is to measurable reduce poverty through deeply reciprocal relationships across race and class lines with goals of nurturing, educating and transforming people in the NETworX programs.

Las Amigas, Incorporated is a national organization with regional chapters. There are more than 20 chapters throughout the southeastern United States including the Morven Chapter, as well as Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Gastonia, Greenville and Mooresville.

Las Amigas works on improving the lives of citizens who reside in the various communities where chapters serve through senior citizen meals, scholarships for high school seniors, help for domestic violence victims and programs for young people.
